Overview
Casa Aurelia shows how a small hotel can take bookings on its own website instead of depending only on booking portals. The public site (Romanian and English) lets guests check availability, compare rate options and book; the back office covers what the team does every day — reservations, calendar, rooms and housekeeping, rates, maintenance and reports. The property, prices, policies and photos are fictional.
What it does
- Availability and pricing: rates per room type with weekend, extra-adult and child prices, minimum stay, seasonal rules and promotional codes; flexible and non-refundable options side by side.
- No double booking: each reservation is allocated to a physical room, and the database itself rejects overlapping stays. Concurrency tests recorded zero double bookings.
- Payments and refunds through a payment interface with a built-in sandbox; a Stripe adapter is implemented and waiting for keys.
- Guest self-service by booking reference, PDF vouchers and transactional e-mails sent through an outbox.
- Operations: today's arrivals and departures, room calendar, housekeeping statuses, maintenance blocks, iCal import from booking channels, reports with CSV export and an audit log.
Quality
272 automated and manual checks were executed (271 passed, 1 failure fixed, 0 open defects), including a 1,500-case pricing check, accessibility scans with no violations and SEO checks.
Status
A complete demo, not in use by a real hotel. Before launch it needs a real payment account, monitoring, hosting and the owner's own property data and legal texts.
